Higher education is undergoing a revolution, and Lancaster University is helping to lead it. As one of the world's top universities, we have a strong tradition of innovation, and our future will be shaped by the opportunities created by new technologies.
Information Systems Services is seeking a Developer to join our Innovation Team. Digital innovation is at the heart of our strategy and ambition. In the Innovation Team, we are focused on developing new ways of delivering the best experience possible for all our students and staff, whether they are based at our green Campus or located at home, wherever that may be in the world.
The main purpose of this role is to be a developer throughout the full development stack on our innovation and mobile solutions. You will need to work with cloud and on-premise development tools and frameworks, be able to mentor temporary staff in best practice, and be willing to work across a range of emerging frameworks.
Requirements:
- Experience in programming languages and frameworks of C# and React
- Some experience of working with AWS and Azure
- Experience of GIT for source code management and revision control
- Ability to mentor temporary staff in best practice
- Willingness to work across a range of emerging frameworks
The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. A minimum of 3 days a week in the office is expected, working flexibly to adapt to the needs of the role.
You would be joining an agile, innovative team working to provide applications and services which have high impact and visibility. We are committed to supporting our new team members including students and have built an environment that fosters knowledge sharing and consideration of others.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced developer to have a transformative impact on the student experience of digital learning and further their own career with a global leader in Higher Education.
Please note: based on the standard minimum salary, this role does not meet the Home Office requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship. If you already have permission to work in the UK, or you hold a different non-sponsored visa route, you are welcome to apply.
