We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Business Support Officer to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Student Living team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the department while delivering excellent service to students, staff, and stakeholders at all times.
You will manage the day-to-day ordering and financial record keeping for the department including procurement, reconciliation of accounts and third-party accommodation rent reconciliation, and will maintain and develop the department's electronic filing and archive system, ensuring information is catalogued and available.
You will act as the main point of contact for the team and will respond to financial and third-party accommodation enquiries, resolving issues and answering queries as required. You will also provide support for working groups, projects, events and activities, and will use a wide range of systems to provide regular financial reports.
Candidates should have proven relevant experience working within an administrative role or be qualified to HNC or HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. You should have experience of working in a customer-focused environment and have experience of managing budgets, auditing and action planning. A proven ability to manage confidential situations and information with discretion is also essential for the post.
The position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week), mainly worked between 9.00am–5.15pm Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be required to work occasional weekends to cover University Events. Job share arrangements may be considered.
